Gilles Simon winning Thailand PTT Open
The open was in Asia and i had promised myself that if Simon reached the semis, i would fly to Thailand to hopefully watch his last 2 matches. The inaugural Malaysian Open clashed with the Thailand Open, therefore i was glad that the Thailand Open was still broadcasted on starsports. Didn't know why, but i will become very nervous whenever i watch Simon playing. Simon breezed thru the 2nd round match but was caught down on the quarterfinals as signs of is tendonities was beginning to appear. However, through determination, he still managed to emerge as the victor. He was then thru to the semis. Dad was @ home when i was watching Simon's 'live' quarterfinal round. I then begged him to let me fly to Thailand the next day, with my big brother tagging along. However, no matter how hard i tried to persuade, i was still disabled the chance to watch Simon lift the cup. It was too last min but dad agreed that he will consider the next year. Simon's semis opponent was Jurgen Melzer, the one who has the upper hand of a 3-2 record against Simon. Worst still, Simon was still suffering from tendonities. The match caused the nerve of me. I was anticipating for the match throughout the whole afternoon and the odds(online) of Simon winning was slimmer than Melzer's( w.t.h!!!). Surprisingly, during his semis, Simon didn't face much difficulty against Melzer and showed no signs of the injury from tendonities. Best of all, he showed good sportsmanship even he lose a point or even faced bad judgements of line calls. That was it, it breezed thru to hisfinals with a score of 6-3 7-6. His final round opponent would then be Viktor Troicki, the 4th seed who caused a major upset by defeating the no.1 seed , Jo-Wilfred Tsonga a.k.a JWT. Thank god Simon has a 1-0 record match against Troicki. So the finals was on a sunday aftnn with Simon playing against the in-form Troicki. Simon played very well in the finals as he took the 1st set 7-5. Early in the 2nd set, Simon was down 2-0. However, thru his determination to run every ball down, Simon broke back as he took the next 4 games. Simon put loads of pressure on Troicki, causing Troicki with loads of unforced errors, leaving Simon with 3 championship points. Simon would win the next point and claimed the title! Well done Simon! Celine was shouting and screaming in front of the tv like a mad woman. But, Celine had 2 now treat her 2 bros aston as promised. However, the main issue was Simon claiming his 1st title of the year! Like what Simon said, though it came in the end, but it's never too late and better than none. Bravo!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! Cveline's love for Simo has only increased.(puke! but it's true. hahaha)

1 day before chel left
Rachel's arrival in Singapore was, to me, @ the wrong period of time. It was during the period of our poly exams. Therefore, we were only able to spend time with her on weekends. We tried to make the best use of time that we had with her. Indeed, we went to many places during her presence but if only she could come before or after the exams, we would have more time as i was willing to skip lessons to spend time with her. The day before she left was the last day of my exams(thank god i still had time). After the paper, i immediately left the exam hall n rush to meet feli in school before rushing to meet chel @ mrt. Lin was to meet us after her school ends. After lunching 2gether, we went on to dhoby gaut to take neoprints and play sum arcade games. At around 5, we scheduled to meet lin. Just then, feeling that the time isn't enough, feli and sling asked chel if she could stay over @ sling's hs 4 e 'last' time. Chel called her mum and surprisingly, her mum allowed. Feli too then asked her mum 4 permission and surpringly, was allowed to stay over. Chel, feli and sling then went over to feli's hs to get her clothes and most importantly, the scrap book(secretly without letting chel know). We then rushed to parkway to meet lin. Though we were severly late, but lin wasnt furious(i guess, from her looks). We had dinner together before printing the fotos that we've took with chel for the past few days. After choosing the fotos, we then went to mini bits to choose a friendship ring that only we 4 had( to replace the friendship band). Then, we went to swensens to have ice-cream using lin's coupon. While eating, we were snapping fotos away, cherishing the moments we have left before chel returns to her country. We left swensens after it was time to collect our fotos. After letting lin see the fotos, we took a taxi to my hs as lin walked home. After reaching home, we did our normal routine, to watch the tv before playing wii. However, this time was slightly different as while one of us(feli and i) was accompanying chel, the other had to make an excuse to complete the scrap book. It was tough though. As there was so much to do with so little time, feli and i had to even stay up after chel slept. We even had to wake up early the next morning to complete it. If i'm not wrong, i only managed to cough out about 3hrs of slp only. Tiring, but i will remember the nite 4eva. I couldnt sleep that nite. Chel and i chatted for very long in the wee hours. It was clear that we would miss each other. In my heart, i was not looking forward to the next day. Didnt want to let the nite pass. All i could do was to continue chatting with her till i fall asleep...

My emotions and learning of the truth of my paternal grandmother's death
It took me alot of courage to blog this entry. Everything that i am going to blog now is about my genuine feelings about the death of my paternal grandmother's death and was undisclosed thus far. I am a very selfish person, a few days before my birthday, i was using every wish that i am entitled to to wish that my mama lelo does not pass away on my birthday. To me, birthdays are always an important occasion such that i would celebrate it every year. I did not want my birthday to clash with my grandmother's death anniversary as i would know that my birthday would become invalid. I would perhaps not celebrate my birthday anymore... ... ... ... ... ...
My family and i arrived @ mama's pasir ris home early to receive mama from the hospital. Some of the relatives were already there waiting too. The atmosphere was terrible. Everyone was glooming, sad, exhausted, fearful. An atmosphere that i never enjoyed and would not want to anymore. Mama finally came as most of us rushed to her room. We were only allowed in the room for awhile as we had to keep the room 'air-free'. While idling, gong-gong asked his grandchildren(us) to fix a lamp and his children to hang something. Uncle Danny(my 3rd-uncle) helped to hang while he stood on a stool to reach out. Just then, slanting too much, he became off-balance and slipped. His forehead knocked a chair nearby. He suffered from abrasion on his forehead and had 2 go to the hospital. Maybe, that was a signal that mama-lelo might not make it. But @ that time, i still believed that she will pull thru as i've been told that she still had a month to live. We left early that evening(abt 8pm) as dad said 'we should have a birthday dinner for celine as we might not have time 2moro.' PS: a dinner that was never regarded as a birthday dinner to me... ... ... ... ...
The night had passed and it was the day of my birthday. 'The' call that i might have anticipated did not arrive, so i assumed that mama lelo pulled thru. That morning, i was still enjoying my coffee and tv programs and thinking of where 2 have fun with my friends, not knowing wat had happened. Suddenly, i received a call from my maternal grandmother asking whether i had visited mama lelo. I told her we were going to visit her tat night and celebrate my birthday. I could tell that she was shocked as she continued, "u noe ur mama die already?". My tears rolled down immediately as i slammed the phone, shout out for my maid and started calling my mother. "mummy, mama lelo pass away already(still sobbing) u know or not?" She replied "yes". Jus then my maid came in and seemed to be shocked that i knew the truth. I slammed the phone again as she continued explaining, "Celine, who tell you 1? Ma'am say tonight then tell u. Today is your birthday, ma'am wan u to enjoy 1st" Of course the typical celine would then lock herself in her room as she called for her best friends weilin and felicia. While waiting for her best friends, celine was crying bitterly. The maid was worried, the maternal grandmother(mama) was worried, the mother was worried, so was the brother(older). Feeling guilty that she told celine the truth beforehand, mama kept calling wanting to apologise but celine jus wouldnt answer or unlock the door. All she wanted to do was cry. Unexpectedly, the mother comes home, worried about the daughter. she explained, " Mama lelo passed away this morning. we did not want to let u know the truth bcoz ur brother(older) wanted u to have a happy birthday". We were all weeping. Jus then, felicia arrived and we went bac to my room. I continued crying, feeling guilty that were every1 is enduring the truth, i was enjoying my coffee. Later, lin came. Though with my best friends, i managed to calm down, it was tough. I never told this to any1 before, in my heart, i felt as though i was a jinx for mama lelo to pass away on my birthday. I knew every1 was hurting but all i could do was to 'act' brave to @ least take away the guilt they felt towards me... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
I would like to thank Felicia Lee and Ong weilin for that support that they've given me on that day. I really appreciate it and if it was not for them, i might suffer from depression. Thank you very very much!

Steven Gerrad, My autobiography
To me, reading this book is such an inspiration. It shows me the patriotism in Steven Gerrad. Since young, Steven Gerrad have been madly in love with soccer and most importantly, Liverpool Football Club(LFC). The death of his cousin due 2 an incident associated to the club did not stop Stevie G from his passion for soccer. Even when he knew he might get a toe amputated, he never gave up. Instead, his passion grew stronger each time. Finally, he was accepted @ the academy as a junior. He tried very hard and even made sacrification in order to to get to the 1st team. Though his best friend in the academy, Michael Owen, gt accepted, he never gave up. Soon, Stevie G was finally accepted 2 play as seniors. His potential was even noticed by 1st team. After trying for so hard, the manager then promoted stevie 2 the 1st team. Though he wasnt allowed 2 play a game 4 the club yet, but he was already contented(but of course wanted more). Stevie was doted by his seniors as they gave him advices and of course willing to practise with him. Eventually, he was able to be on the 1st team with his seniors and was highly rated by the club's manager, coach and seniors. Other big clubs like man.u and chelsea even wanted 'buy' him. However, the patriotism tat he had for the club was too strong for him 2 even consider switching clubs. Soon, the played for the club as a substitute and was even given nods of appraisals. He was then called for national duties to play for England. Stevie G was of course delighted! He wanted to prove badly tat he was worth the spot the England team. While mixing with the england lads, stevie was very popular. Most of the lads tat were nt from Liverpool were convincing Stevie to join their football club but mostly to no avail. Stevie was improving each time, but LFC was not. Finally, the lack of trophy caused him to consider about his future in LFC. It was then when LFC's abilities was stretched. With a 'must-win' mentality, Stevie along with the other LFC's lad led LFC to their win or the FA cup, etc(2 other but dun remember) all within the same season. LFC was brought to 'life' by these lads. What were they looking for now? The Champions League Trophy. Though being looked down as a club, the LFC's lads worked extremely hard for the spot in the finals. By then, Stevie G was the captain for the club. They were matched up against AC Milan Football Club away from home. Liverpool was 3-0 down during half-time. Most of the lads were already demoralised during the break. However, the captain, along with some LFC staffs did not gave up. Instead, they encouraged the team to buck, the game was not over yet. The dream tat all Liverpool supporters, staffs, legends and players ain't going to die down yet. The liverpool supporters tat were present @ the match had not given up hope yet. All the encouragement was like a potion to players as they braced up and bounced back into the match. Soon, Stevie G scored their 1st goal and was narrowed down to 3-1 down. This goal provided much motivation to the rest to do better. As the match continues, the 2nd goal came rolling in. As the final whistle was nearing, the Liverpool players gave all they can and earned a penalty kick which delivered by Xabi Alonso. Indeed, the 3rd goal was scored and Liverpool 'survived' with a 2nd chance to win the battle. It was then down to the penalties to determine the winning side. Even so, the motivation was too high as compared to the Milan side. Pepe Reina saved a couple of goals and it was down to Finnan's kick to give Liverpool the trophy. Finnan produced an untouchable kick and gave the merseyside the win. All hell's broke out as every1 associated to LFC went berserk. In was the club's 5th club but it was the 1st in 5 years. The victory meant so much to Stevie G as he lifted the trophy. The sweat, blood, hardwork, everything that he have worked for have finally paid off...
Even now, other clubs like Real Madrid, Man.U, Chelsea and Man.city are still after him but are aware that it is impossible for Stevie G to shake. Even money is unable to lure him away. Stevie G is a very much respected player all around the world. His patrioticsm for the club is commendable. He also hope that is able to serve the club throughtout the rest of his life. I wish the best of luck to him and his family!

US Open review 2009
This year's US open i did not really had the the time 2 watch or catch some live matches as it clashes on my grandmother's wake as well as my birthday. I was able 2 catch it on the 2nd week though. This year, the women's tennis consisting mainly of Kim Clijsters, Serena Williams, Dinara Safina, Maria Sharapova, Caroline Wozniacki, Melanie Oudin and Yanina Wickmayer was the topics the tournament. However, i will start off with my Simon's report. Simon started of pretty well in the tournament winning in straight sets for his 1st few matches. In the 3rd round match, he was up against Juan Carlos Ferrero(the 1 whom he lost 2 @ wimbledon). Simon had a great start, winning 6-2 in the 1st set. He lost the 2nd set though. Then, he was up a break of serve and was soon serving 4 the 3rd set. However, his knees begin hindering his play. The tendonities on his knees cost him his foot speed(most crucial in his games) and shots that he is able 2 go for. Soon, simon was forced 2 the 3rd set tiebreak, whereby simon was really struggling 2 walk. After losing the 3rd set tiebreak, Simon was forced 2 retire. He played really well but it was his knees that disappointed him. The men's side was pretty disappointing with Andy Murray(lost to Marin Cilic), Andy Roddick(lost to John Isner) and Novak Djokovic(lost to Del Porto) booted out early in the tournament. The only surprise was perhaps the youngster Juan Martin Del Porto claiming the tournament. However, the women's side provided some roller coaster matches. Dinara Safina was discarded early in the tournament by a qualifier. Elena Dementieva and Maria Sharapova was both brought down by the young American, Melanie Oudin in 3 sets durind round 2 and 3 respectively. Then, between the battle of the youngsters, Caroline Wozniacki ended Oudin's dream run @ the US open to reach the semis where she would face Yanina Wickmayer. Wickmayer(also a teenager) was also a qualifier and shocked every1 by reaching the semis. However, it was Wozniacki who took the match away and became the 1st Dane ever 2 reach a grand slam final. On the other side of the draw, comeback queen Kim Clijsters overcame 3rd seed Venus Williams and China's no.1 Li Na, to reach the semis where she will face no.2 seed n hot fav. Serena Williams. After a tough battle, Kim took the 1st set. The 2nd set proved 2 be the more crucial set for Serena. While serving @ 4-6 5-6, 15-30, Serena was foot faulted by a line judge which caused her a point to be down 15-40, down match point. Serena was unconvinced by the call and started venting anger on the line judge, whereby line judge was called upon the empire as well as the tournament directors. When confirmed tat Serena had threatened her, Serena was then defaulted a point for a series of misconducts (e 1st was the smashing of racket) and Kim won the match. Later, Serena was fined for misconduct. Kim Clijsters was thru to the semi and would face Caroline Wozniacki, also she became the 1st mum 2 reach a grand slam final since Evonne Gulagong. During the finals, both women exchanged early breaks but it was Kim who took the 1st set. The 2nd set proved to be a tough 1 for Kim as she gave Caroline a chance to serve for the 2nd set. However, Kim bounced back strongly as she took the next 3 games to win the tournament. The emotional Kim immediately fell to the ground before going for the handshake. There was it, the comeback mum claiming the title after only her 3rd tournament since announcing her comeback. The emotional Kim went on to show her appreciation to her husband and daughter, Jada. Every1 was happy for the family. This provided a happy ending to the tournament.
Let's all hope that Simon has better luck next year and mayb try 2 win a slam!
Let's all hope that Simon has better luck next year and mayb try 2 win a slam!

monica seles
Monica Seles, my autobiography
I've read tiz book a long time ago but it's still isn't too late 2 blog it...I have to say, monica seles's book have touched me the most among all the non-fiction books i've read thus far. This is also the reason why i've begin to enjoy reading auto/biographies, the emotion that each player have felt n the different types of route n hardwork each player have put in etc, is closer to the heart as it a real-life story compared 2 those fiction stories tat r mostly fantasies. Biographies r more direct. Back to the mainpoint, the highlight of Monica's career was the stabbing, which is what she is famous for and how i got 2 noe her. Monica started playin tennis @ a very young age. Though many people doubted her abilities due 2 her unique 2-handed back n forehand along with her disturbing screams she make each time she wacks a ball, she persisted. Monica's persistance brought her good. She won her 1st grand slam @ e age of only 15(maybe 16, dun quite remember) years old. This victory boosted her rankings. Soon, she held the no.1 spot. Her competition, Steffi Graf. Steffi Graf was also playing very well during Monica's time. She too won some grand slam titles. For a period of time, Monica and steffi were exchanging the no.1 rankings. However, the worst day of monica's life was approaching. Monica was playing a tournament in Hamburg, Germany, during a semi-final match against Jennifer Capriati. Both girls were having a break after a game when the empire called 'time' and play was to be resumed. While Monica was walking towards the baseline, a male audience, Parche, went around her back and stabbed her @ her shoulder back. All tournament helpers immediately went to her rescue b4 parche went 2 stab monica a 2nd time. Monica immediately fell in coma. The incident had caused her her tennis career and most importantly, scars that took too long to recover. Later, it had been told that parche stabbed monica because he was too obessed with steffi and wanted steffi to retain the no.1 ranking. All these could happen only if monica 'disapeared'. Indeed, after monica 'retired' steffi held the no.1 ranking for a very long period of time and became one of the most successful female tennis player. Worst of all, Parche was charged with only 1 day in jail. Monica had a really hard time cooping with life the stabbing incident she consistantly suffered nightmares and binges, she even had to shun paparazzi. Life was chaotic for monica. None of the female athletes backed her up. she lost her rankings and went behind the scenes for almost 2 years. When she was finally brave enough 2 take up the sport as a pro, she did nt play as well as she used 2. She was winning many slams before but after her recovery, she only won 1. Soon, she retired officialy.
My evaluation: Monica was a very very successful tennis player b4 the stabbing incident. She could be more successful in her career if nt for the incident. I personally feel that it is very very unfair 4 people 2 praise steffi graf as without the 'help' of the obsessed parche, she would nt have won tat much titles as she would face Monica's contention. I feel unjust for Monica. She could be 1 of the most successful female athlete in history if not 4 the mishaps. I really hope that Monica's life will only get better each time.

Mama lelo
Remembering my beloved paternal grandmother
We used 2 call her mama lelo. Come 2 think of it, her name has been created when we were young but not frm birth. From young, whenever we visit her @ her pasir ris home, and whenever we called out 2 her, she would always say 'mama lai lo' (in chi: mama is coming). As we had 2 grandmothers in which we both called them mama, whenever both grandmothers met, they would find it confusing. Since then, we started calling her 'mama lai lo' but as our chinese wasnt proficient when we were young, we pronounced it as mama lelo or even mama yellow. In the end, we settled 4 mama lelo. When we were young, we used 2 visit her house every sunday and lunch there along with my relatives and cousins. Whenever we visit, my grandfather would be the 1 opening e door 4 us while we rushed in 2 greet her, always finding her in the kitchen. She would then prepare lunch 4 us. After lunch, the children will settle down in the playroom while the adults will go 2 e masterbed room 4 a chat. Mama lelo will then bring in several plates of fruits. It seems as though her work is never ending. Sometimes, the children(us) will be brought down 2 the playground. Then, mama lelo will bring down some cold beverages for the sweating grandchildren. Towards the evening, our parents would fetch us home(we dreaded it the most as we had sch the next days). After bidding her goodbye, we'd hopped on 2 our parents' car. We practiced this every week until we started secondary sch.
Seriously, i really pity mama lelo, 4 all her life, she had 2 put up with my grandfather(aka white colour gong gong). My grandfather was well known 4 his foul temper, not even his children can stand him 4 very long. she then had 2 move from 1 place 2 another, one child's hs to another 2 avoid my grandfather. After she was diagnosed with her cancer, her children decided 2 settle her in my hs permanentely until her cancer has been treated. Indeed, in terms of environment and people,my hs was e most suitable 1. Ever since mama stayed in my hs, i was closer 2 her then b4. To be continued...

Rachel's back
The 1st friday we spent 2gether:
We've arranged 4 chel 2 cum 2 my hs in the morning since i'm skipping csa. Also, since both chel n feli were stayin over @ my hs hs that nite, we've decided that chel cums 2 my hs 1st 2 leave her clothings while we wait 4 feli 2 cum n leave her htings @ my hs after her sch b4 waiting 4 lin 2 call 2 lunch 2gether. Lin took longer than we've expected(as usual). So, we've contempted 2 jus laze around in my room with sum air-con(we've took sum nice fotos though). We were famished by the time lin called. We then decided 2 go 2 iluma 2 get our movie tickets 1st b4 meeting her @ our favourite/must go eating place: Seoul Garden @ bugis junction! We rushed 4 e food n quickly filled our stomachs. Surprisingly, the naughty rachel started 2 'whip up' her own dish(video is available which will b uploaded later, damn funny!). She started 2 'cook' leftover/unwanted food on the hotplate with fried rice, she even poured sum FnN grape into her 'dish'. Worst still, she even tasted her 'dish' (Yewwwwwwwwwwww, Yucksssssssssssssssss). But she still enjoyed the 'dish' very much. Unbelieveable! The 3 of us then kept making fun of her. We were bloated by the end of the buffet. We had 2 even rush 4 our movie, UP(3D version). The show quite hilarious and enjoyable overall 4 us. The cinema too had only a few people which enabled us 2 relax more. By the time our show ended it was quite late @ nite. Lin took a ride from her mum's her while chel, feli n i went back 2 bugis junction 2 get some snacks 4 our 'overnite' party. We reached home @ around 10.30pm and begun our 'party'. Firstly, we indulge(sry, dun remember hw 2 spell) ourselves in sushi and ice cream soda and @ the mean time watch the 'you're my destiny'. After that, when i started 2 bcome sleepy, chel and feli went 2 play wii. I dun really noe wat time they played until but i was the 1st 2 'knock out'. i didnt have enough stamina 2 last thru e whole nite.

My best friend, Rachel Lee
My best friend, Rachel Lee (blogging from my grandma's funeral)
One of my best friend, rachel, was back in Singapore for 2 weeks. I was very very excited when the day was approaching. I have missed her so so so much ever since she went over to study in UK. Recalling the day that we sent her off seems kinda funny to me. After sending her off, feli and i went to the overhead bridge outside the library to 'let-out'. Feli cried and screamed @ the same time, was kinda funny 2 me (it was those type of 'exaggerting cry'. Luckily it was early in the morning and i think feli and i were the only ones there. hahahahahahha was all i could express @ that time. Even though i was utterly sad that my best friend had left the country, but feli's cry was too funny for me 2 stop crying and laugh @ her (sry feli). haha.
So then, i was counting down to the day rachel was cuming back to SG. The night b4 we were still chatting online and she told me that she could only stay 4 a week due 2 accomodation problems. That really freaked me out. We've planned so many things 2 do 2gether, worst still she was due here during my exam period. Thankfully later she called again and told me that the problem had been solved and she was still going 2 stay 4 2weeks. Finally the day had arrived, Feli and i wanted 2 'fetch' her from the airport. We decided 2 meet @ the mrt b4 'fetching' her but....as usual, feli was late. Then we had 2 run from the mrt all the way to the airport bus terminal(very tiring!) to catch the shuttle bus 2 the budget terminal. When we arrived @ the budget terminal, chel had already arrived and instead, she was the one waiting 4 us. My 1st impression of her was: wow, u've grown prettier! Her hair had grown longer and striaghter and she was wearing the clothes that she would not wear in the past. However, my 2nd impresson was: actually u did not change much. The wallet, handphone, spectacles, etc was still the same! Even her behaviour did not change. Unbelieveable! After waving goodbye 2 her parents and brother, we headed 2 my house(which she had not been 2 yet) 2 play some games and meanwhile 2 wait 4 the latecomer, weilin. We also had dinner in my hs and rachel updated us with her life in UK. It was really nice 2 have her back! 2wards 8pm @ nite, we went 2 the mrt 2 pick our latecomer, lin, haiyo always late 1 (but i wont blame her, who ask her jc lifestyle so hectic). She played with us so wii b4 my dad fetched chel back(i had comm. skills presentation the next day). And that's all 4 the 1st day that we had her...i will update the photos and the other days spent 2gether later on...

Michael Chang
Holding Serve, Michael Chang
I've jus read the biography of Michael Chang. Michael Chang story was very heart warming to me. It states that the Chang family have been so poor when Michael was young. The family had to scrimp and save in order for michael and his brother to play tennis. Michael had to overcome cramps and mental strength in order to win his 1st and only grand slam. As he had suffered badly from cramps while playing top players like Ivan Lendle and Stefan Edberg, he had to play smart. All types of shots like the underhand and going up to the service line came up in order to win the tournament. It was such an emotional win for him and his family as he became the youngest ever player to win the French Open. Though i was disappointed that he chose to play for America rather than Taiwan or China, but i would never blame him. Who ask him to be Simon's inspirational player. But overall the book was good except that it had too much of the cristianity going around.

Wimbledon review '09
Review of wimbledon 2009
Had wanted to post this entry a long time ago but was simply too bz. ok, so this year's wimbledon saw no.1 seed n defending champ. r.nadal MIA. Sadly, this puts federer in the driver's seat and he won(SO???). The worst thing is that he gets to take over nadal to bcome world no.1. Anyway, 4get bout this. Lets tok bout my Simon. well, this year was his personal best @ wimbledon by reachin the 4th round. Though he had lost in 4th round to world no.70 n former wimbledon champ, but @ least he still have wins over Hanescu who knocked him @ the French Open(Simon had a leg injury but still perservered to the end). Congrats Simon! Get better each year and win the slam soon! Next, Tommy Haas went on to a running streak to reach the semi while Andy murray was quite disappointing to lose @ the semi despite being the no.2 seed. The man to look out for was Ivo Karlovic who served very good aces and many of it. Llyton Hewitt was good too. He knocked out el potro on his way 2 the quaters. In the women's draw, the women who looked out for was Elena Dementieva. She had a match point against eventual winner, serena williams. On the other hand, dinara safina was terrible by taking only 1 game from venus williams during the semis. That's all i can comment. Hope simon will win the tournament nxt year!

Roland Garros review '09
Final summary for Roland Garros'09
Both the men's n women's final was sadly, boring! In fact, the semis was much more exciting than the finals. federer won in straight sets, matching pete sampras's record and Kuznetsova also won in straight sets. Boring! Seriously, without soderling, federer could not have won the roland garros. Oh yar... suddenly thought of one intrerestin part...while watchin e men's final, this man, while holding a swiss flag, charged 2wards federer. that scared the hell out of federer! Funny though. Other than that, nothing much le. Hope nxt year's roland garros would be mch more exciting with simon winning the title!
Wat the hell happened to me?
2dae, i had a terrible headache since afternn. 2wars nite time, it gt worse tat i cried terribly n dad thought that i watched too much tv tat caused the headache. He scolded n i felt worse...and when i really went to puke, he then believed tat i wasnt faking it. I think 2dae's headache was b far, the most excruciating 1. it had caused me to puke mant times 2dae.Thankfully, my maid massaged my neck n head n i felt slightly better. playin tennis 2moro and have been lookin forward to it so i dont wan 2 miss it @ all! Hope i can recover by 2moro!

French Open- Boon or Bane
French open(a.k.a Roland Garros) was a disaster this year. Most of the top 10 players crashed out of the tournament in the early stages, not only for the men's draw but for the women's draw as well. First casualty from the men's draw was my dear Gilles Simon who tasted defeat due to injury as i have mentioned on my previous draw. The second 1 was a shocker, Novak djokovic, who fell to the hands of someone who have jus defeated simon jus a week or so ago. Then was followed by tsonga, verdasco, roddick and a huge surprise, Rafeal Nadal. Seriously, this year's French Open to me, was a tournament of demise. Most of the 10 players were ousted by lower ranked player. By the quarters only federer, monfils and del potro are left(all of which are within the bottom half of the draw). I am really curious, wat has happened to these players? has fatigue played a part in it?
On the women's draw on the other hand, world no.3 venus was among the 1st casulty of the many top 10 players. The next casualties was followed by elena dementieva, Ana ivanovic, Jelena Jankovic, Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams. Only survivor left: Safina and Kuznetsova.
Wat a boring French Open but will be lookin forward for the grasscourt season!

Simon in French Open '09
A twist and turn
It's the french open! 2 days ago, i was delighted! Simon won in straight sets after a 1st-round-5-set-match. It's been a long time since he played and won comfortably. However, 2nite, i feel so terrible. Simon lost in straight sets to the guy he won 2 years bac to win a tournament. I totally do not blame him. He was injured. He was sort of limping towards the end of the game. @ least he did not give up and would rather concede the match than to retire due to injury. He really has good sportsmanship! He is so fragile that 1 little injury may cause a great impact to his body and that's wat worries me the most. I am afraid that his injury is too serious that he have to miss the next tournament. he was already down with flu now he has an addition knee injury! omg! y is it so unfair! y is he so unlucky? i really hope that he recovers and i wanna let him know that he has my support! Hope all French dont blame him too and dont dislike him too. he too feels sad! JiaYou, Simon!

4r5 class gathering
R5 class gathering
It was a really long time since we had a 4r5 gathering. Yesterday, most of the 4r5 classmates gathered together to celebrate chongmin's and vincent's b'dae. We has alot of fun! Firstly, after skool, i met vincent, phil, zhipeng and leon(he looks alot like my brother).then, we went to tampines mall to lunch, shop for stuff and met the rest, youming, yijie, panbin, junjie. After tat we headed striaght to sherlyn's hs. We met liyi and lionel there too. After settling down, sheryln went to fetch aileen while, yijie, youming and i prepared the cake for vincent(he totally didnt know that we were celebrating for him too). As expected, when we brought the cake out, he was totally shocked. Then he and the rest of the girls played around the cake by smashing some cakes onto each other's face. Quite fun though. After tat, yijie, phil and i started wrapping vincent's b'dae present(a lollipop) with newspapers into a ball. Then while he was opening it, phil scared him as though there was sth scary or disgusting inside. All shud see vincent's reaction @ tat time. it was really hilarious. His action @ that time while opening the present bcame a little sissy.haha! Ltr, we decided to use the same trick on chongmin again since our plan on vincent worked. The only difference was that cm's ball was bigger but had nothing inside. Ltr, yijie and i went to the pool area while the rest chose to remain @ the hs. soon, sherlyn n youming joined us and soon again we phoned the guys to briing everything down to the bbq pit. Kenny, dominic, oliver, kangsoon n huiqi then joined us. chongmin finally arrived while sherlyn n youming went to fetch jinye n rick n ordered extra food too. Ltr, when they finally reached, we told chongmin to open her 'ball', while youming went on to prepare the cake. chongmin opened the 'ball' too fast that i have to convinced her that she dropped her present in the bin to store time for the cake to be ready. i have to even ask the rest to help. she looked a little worried too! hahaha! Then, we brought the cake out, sang the b'dae song and finally 'revealed her b'dae' present. I can tell that she was very shocked. Almost exactly the same as vincent! i was even praised for my good 'acting' skills! cool! I bet she felt very touched. After that, we begin eating and having our grp talks. then, we began our class tradition and started gambling @ the clubhouse. We left until the clubhouse was abt to close. Next, we tried fitting everyone into the lift. the lift did close but the, to our horror, the lift did not take us to level 12 but instead keep falling to to the 1st level. It was a coaster ride, it kept sinking our it reached lvl3. As soon as the lift opened, we rushed out of the lift and took the other 1 in 2 separate lifts. then, we settled in sherlyn's hs and we started our small talks again. Surprisingly, rick n oliver wanted to learn tennis and i told them tat i wanted too n our coach was Sherlyn. Yay! @ least i found some tennis partners, After tat, we took another group photo and then we headed home. Oliver kenny and dominic i think took a cab home while the rest tagged along in my mum's car for a lift to the kg. mrt. Can anyone imagine, we fitted 11 people and 2 dogs in a car! tat's so amazing! aft tat, went home to watch survivor.

OB topic: perception
Perception
We've recently touched on the topic, Perception, and i feel that this topic is very relavent and i could not agree more to the content. People tend to be bias to the people they favour and against the people they dislike. I feel that this is totally true! In the booklet, it states that this perception of thinking is called the attribution error. It is difficult for 1 to put oneself in someone else's perception especially when we have to judge against the 1 that we favour, but i know we still have to try so if not, others will judge your perception as a bias 1. so, try to put yourself in the different perception before making a comment. 1 incident that occured to me recently was the Fernando Verdasco incident. While watching tennis in my parent's room, i commented about him being vain as he is probably is one of the very very few guys who style their hair(his is a mohawk style) before every match. And i mean style and not tidy. Even the top6 in world did not style their hair, so why should he? Is he attending a party or what? However, i was then rebuked back by my mum saying that he was jus his personality of wanting the crowd to c the best of him. She also said that i should not critise him jus bcoz i dislike him. However, towards my favourite tennis player i would be very protective of any critics. Therefore, i realised that i have a bias view. To me, many issues or comment made contains biasness and we should be vigilant enough to spot it so as to not let these comment affect us.

Life in poly year 1
My new poly life!
It has been a long time since i've blogged, mainly bcoz...i'm lazy to do so. haha. niwaes, startd my poly education, made new friends, have a new class, having a new life, new timetable, have a careperson (a.k.a. form tcher). Almost everything have changed since i left the secondary education, but i still love my class,4r5, the best! Poly life is so dif. to the secondary school 1.
students tend to be much more independent here in the polytechnic. We have to rely on ourselves to check if there's any homework, the timetable is so different. we can have jus 1 lesson in a single day. Also, most lessons are 2 hours and the subjects are mostly different from the secondary school ones, except for english lessons which is known as communication skills. I'm adjusting to life as a poly student now and hope everything goes smoothly for me!

sleepless nite
kudoes to gilles simon!!!
I had a sleepless nite last nite after watchin the simon-tsonga match last nite. For those who opposes me so much, congrats cause he lost the match! tat's e reason why i had my sleepless nite. i know it's abit fanatic, but i cant hlp it. simon lost to his best buddy on tour. i noe it's very demoralising for him and for me. what breaks my heart even more is tat friendly handshake after the match. simon, despite the disheartening match, still went on 2 put a bravefront, with a smile on his face to congratulate his countryman cum buddy wth no signs of demoralisation. i noe tat it was tough to put up tat smile. i really do not regret supportin him. he is the really the best sportsmen i've ever met. i will continue to support him and hopes tat he does very well in his upcoming events. i also hope tat more people will support him!

a whole new experience
A new experience
well, started workin as a flyer distributor during the IT fair. Got tricked by my brother. didnt' wan to work as a flyer distributor initially. wanted to b a sales assistant instead. @ tat time, all he told was 2 be workin @ e IT fair for his friend's sister. the nite b4 we actually started working then i realised i was working @ tat post. wanted 2 back out initially but still went in the end as i dun wan 2 b such an irresponsible person. ok, intitially, i thought it was goin 2 b a boring and tiring job. However, i still found sum fun in the job. i was usually lined up among the 2 rows as other flyer distributors. and whenever there is people walking thru these 2 rows, we would stuff our flyer 2 them. i mean, looking @ their expression alone is kinda funny. we even passed 2 the kids. around the last hour or so, sum of the flyer distributor who hav given out all their flyer started to walk thru e 2 rows and help us 'throw' e flyers so that e rest of us can quickly finish. it was fun though, workin wth these people and wth their funny actions. but the place was too crowded and messy. overall, i think it was quite fun still and the best thing is workin helps my mind from missing simon. omg, i bet the next few days is gonna b as boring as usual and i will be in my 'fanatic of simon' mode.haha.

issit always gd being no.1?
issit always good being no.1?
issit always gd being number one? simon is currently world number 8 and bcoz of these rankings, he have 2 face unneccessary pressure of beating players wth a lousier ranking. these pressure have definitly caused him to be out-of-form. i remembered those days when his rankings was terrible(top30), he was then able 2 play without pressure and played more freely, producing some excellent tennis. i mean, he does not deserved to face all these ridiculous pressure neither does he have to be critisized. he worked so hard to be what he is today. probably without any pressure, he could easily breeze through the top 5. Therefore, one shud not care so mch about exterior pressure as long as one tries its best. i wish simon the best of lick too! go simon, go france!

i've had a bad day
i've had a bad day
these few days, i've thought alot. feels weird though. for the past few days, my paternal grandmother have stayed over in my house and a stay for another few weeks. it was jus a week ago that she had been thru an operation and aft tat, the docter diagnosed that she had 3rd-stage cancer with only a few years left to live. i was terrified, very terrified. i mean, i felt so bad. we only noticed abt her sickness when her cancer was already at the 3rd stage! if we would have paid more attention to her, things would have turned out to be better. i feel so miserable. this lady, have taken very good care of me since i was very young. unlike other grandmothers, she never scolds us and would always give us all sorts of things. we used to visit her once a week week when we were young but now probably once a month or even once in 3 months. even so, when she knew we were coming, she would cook or fav. food and packed them up for s to takeaway. however, she is also very pitiful. my paternal grandfather is one who always shouts and bullies her. normal woman would jus divorce or leave the man alone. however, my grandmother jus endured it, which is kind of amazing. his temper is really bad as he loves to shout at people. therefore i admire her alot. such a kind lady should not be punished with thiz type of illness. i feel that it's in justice done. right now, i jus hope that she pulls through and be strong and try to overcome tiz sickness.

my life rocks with them
My life rocks with them

i shall write tiz amazing event even though it is a little too late (but i can't seem to get it off my head). it is about the ones who makes my life go round. 1st dog, lucky teo. tiz dog ran into my hs! it seems so amazing! my maid was out dumping rubbish when he suddenly dash into my hs and 'tour' the house. then, the first person whom he first approached was my mum. i could still remember vividly tat we were actually chasing after him. my mum was there on the floor reading the newspapers when he suddenly jump to 'hug' my mum by her back. my mum is a person who didnt like dogs, but aft tat 'hug' she actually allowed us to keep him. After checking around the neighbourhood tat the dog did not belong to anyone, we decided to adopt it. our whole family then showered all our love to this cute dog, even my parents too. he too brought much joy to our family. after moving into our new hs, dad then decided tat our hs could accomodate 1 more dog and hence, decided to 'buy' a wife for lucky. the new dog was named lexie after a few rounds of voting. this dog is cut but naughty and has brought mch joy to our family too!

boring holiday
Boring holiday
it is so boring to stay @ home everyday while waitn for skool to start. i'm nt complainin bout e long holiday, but in fact blamin myself 4 nt havin the motivation to work or even doing sum community activity like i always wanted. the activity tat i wan 2 do all day would be practicing tennis. however, i do not have a tennis racket, neither do i have a court to play at. Furthermore, i do not have a practicing partner! how pathetic! therefore, i have to make do with badminton whereby it is much easier and less boring as compared to tennis. Another thing tat bothers me is my parents. they keep forcing me go british council. the fact is, i'm nt goin 2 jc so y does english matters so so so much. also, even if they wan me to improve my english, i've put in effort to read sum books. they cant possibly exept a drastic improvement in my eng in a short period of time. Furthermore, if goin british council means a 100% improvement of english then when being a lawyer means you are 100% rich (financially). what nonsense is tat. anyway i'm old enough 2 choose wat i wanna do. u can give me advice or watsoeva but do not control my decisions.

class reunion
class reunion
Finally, we have a class reunion. After 3months of holiday, this is the 1st time tat the class will be gathered together and the venue was at my house. i really missed everybody! really missed the secondary days. our class would have this habit of playing cards during recess and lunch breaks (of course we would do not play in front the teacher) one of us would be around to look out for teachers and would notify the rest in the classmates. sounds really fun! other rhan tat we would normally crack jokes among ourselves. Now tat we we're entering our tertiary education, we r unable to be like what we used to be during the secondary school times. really missed all these fun and action. even so, it was great metting everyone. we caught up a little and played wii, and gambled together, it was really very fun. too bad for those who missed out on the class event. Unfortunetly, grandma was ill and i had to visit her in the hospital. therefore, everyone had 2 leave early. i would like to thank all those who came for the wonderful evening.

saddest event tat can ever happen
saddest event that can ever happen
got really emotonal yesterday, it seems as tough nth really went my way. first of all, my grandmother was admited to the hospital and was forced to go thru an operation 1 hr after admiiting to the hospital. After the operation, we thought everything went well but the doctor then called my dad and told him that my grandmother have to go 4 another operation bcoz the doctor have diagnosed a bigger problem with my grandmother's health. At the time my grandmother was having her operation, i was playing badminton with my friends. i felt terrible though, but it has been a very long time time since we've played badminton 2gether(though i actually prefer 2 play tennis). All these passed quickly as i went home to relax and watch my tv. i have been anticipating for the atp tennis open in rotterdam to start, as my most most most fav. tennis player, gilles simon, have participated in this event. Though i did not noe which day he was playin, but i still waited. Finally, he played yesterday and i was elated to see him back on court. i was full full of confidence that he would win the match. However, he did not play well in the first set and eventually lost the first. By then, i was feeling rather gloomy. However, he managed to break bac in the 2nd set to even the score with his opponent (i dun care hu he was, i only know that i hate him to the core). However, in the 3rd and final set, simon lost it, he lost the match. i was feeling terrible, i also do not noe why? it was his match and not mine. i felt worse than the time when i represented the skool to participate in the netball tournament but lost in the the end. it was jus a tournament and not a grand slam. the thought of him exiting so early in the tournament pisses me off alot. i would probably feel sad for another few more days but i jus hope that he will particpate in another tournament asap so that i can see him play (apparently, this has become my most favourite pastime

my new life
My new life
well, got my posting results. goin 2 temasek poly. however, didnt get to my dream course though. i personally feel tat if i were to get into my dream course(hotel and resort management), i will bcome more independent. the course tat i was posted to, however, enables me to take after my mum's job/business. i seriously think tat tiz will bring more harm tat way. even if i were to work for other companies, i think i will have the mentality of if i were to dislike anything from the company, i could always quit as i have my parent's company as backway, making me more reliant on my parents. on the other hand, if i were to study the course that has totally nth to do with my parents company, no matter what, i will force myself to endure and work harder. i will definetly be more independent too. well, many friends and relatives really thinks tat i wanna rely on my parents for the job, hence choosing the course. the fact is: i have no choice. if i were to score better, i would not have chosen tiz course. so, my motive of tiz post is to show my unhappiness of thiz course and how much i do not want to be mistaken for! well, it seems as though almost everything in my life has been arranged for. :(

he is the 1!
He is the no.1!!!

ok, i am now very sure tat i wan gilles simon to act as 'edward cullen'. anyone can treat tiz as a protest or watsoevr. the point is, robert patterson did not gain the likes of fans when the producers declared him to be the main actor of twilight of which he acts as hearthrob 'edward cullen'. He had 2 go thru numerous promotion with the backing of his managers and companies in order to SLOWLY gain popularity. He alone is definetly unable to earn the hearts from the twilight fans. Gilles simon, however, despite haven even going for any promotion, is able to gain the hearts of many fans from the twilight saga. This is definetly true as someone from the made a comment on the australian open official website. Furthermore, he has some qualities similar to that of 'edward cullen' that makes him more suitable 2 act as 'edward cullen'. Firstly, he has the most gorgeous pair of eyes tat i've ever seen (this 1 is definelty breathtaking). Secondly, he plays the piano! (in the movie, edward too plays the piano, it gives the director an easier time to shoot piano scenes) Thirdly,he does not nid much promotion to gain the hearts of the fans bcoz fans will be naturally attracted to him (this quality will help save his company from extra promotion and i believe tat with the hlp of the movie, he will be the next brad pitt or andy lau, haha!) so, my point is, he suit the character, edward cullen, better!!!

poor media coverage from the australian open!!!
Poor media coverage from the australian open!!!

While watching this first grand slam of the year, i definetly have some mixed feelings. I was really proud to know tat gilles simon managed to reach become the sixth seed. However, i furious also as his compatriots even those with a worser ranking is receivin more attention n coverage from the media. For example, in today's match when compatriot monfils was through to his match, the media then broadcasted a half-way-through-cum-exciting match of simon. It was broadcasted halfway for about only 5 minutes before turning its attention to another compatriot, tsonga. they even broadcasted him with his warmup! i mean, hello, how can a warmup be more exiting then a men's world no.6 live match! even so, they shud not even broadcast the match halfway before opting 4 another 1. It seems as though they do not respect much to this player! so i dun seee y this broadcasting channel deserves my respect either! By the way, this channel that i am talking about is espn star sports. so people, pls take note! Boos 4 a lousy coverage by these people! Good luck to gilles simon n i will always cheer on you!

Twilight saga shud hav a new male lead
Twilight movie saga shud have a new male lead!!!
As a twilight saga and movie fan, i have been trying to convince myself tat robert patterson is e right guy 4 'edward cullen'. however it is quite difficult to do so.4 those girls who have fall in in love wth robert patterson, gd luck u're pretty easy 2 convince. jus bcoz of a few advertising media praising bout him, tat does make him e most sitable candidate 4 'edward cullen'. i think we shud give someone else a chance. i strongly recommends Gilles Simons to be e next 'edward cullen'. He is a professional tennis player with an up-to-date ranking of world no.6. His behaviour and attitude while playing matches totally sits edward's character very much. i really think tat Gilles Simon shud replace robert patterson 2 b e nxt 'edward cullen'. so, BYE to robert patterson and HIHI to Gilles Simon!
